Foreign Information ministries warn of catastrophe in Gaza

Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Information in Gaza warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip leading to political security and social consequences that would result in a state of chaos and instability in the region.

Foreign Affairs undersecretary Ghazi Hamad said in a joint press conference with Ministry of Information in Tuesday to release a report on the humanitarian conditions in Gaza that the suffering of the Gazan people has aggravated to an unprecedented rate because of the 12-year-long Israeli siege and the failure of the Palestinian reconciliation.

He stated that Gaza has become a time bomb that would explode at any moment in light of the existence of international plans to keep on the current humanitarian crisis for political reasons.

According to the report the sanctions imposed on Gaza by the Palestinian Authority which includes salary cuts forced retirement cutting funds for health education electricity and municipalities in addition to threatening of additional sanctions would likely lead to a humanitarian catastrophe.
