Four Palestinian administrative detainees have been on hunger strike for different periods of time to pressure Israeli jailers to respond to their demands and end their detention.
According to Palestinian rights groups prisoner Khalil Awawdeh entered on Saturday day 168 of the hunger strike he staged to protest his administrative detention amid growing concerns over his life.
As a result of his prolonged hunger strike Awawdeh suffers from multiple health problems including severe joint pains a persistent headache emaciation extreme fatigue irregular heartbeats and breathing and blurred eyesight.
Meanwhile prisoners Ahmed and Idhal Mousa (brothers) entered day 21 of the hunger strike they staged in protest at their administrative detention.
The brothers were kidnaped by the Israeli occupation forces on August 7 2022 and later an Israeli military court approved the administrative detention of Ahmed for four months and Idhal for three months.
Another administrative prisoner called Imad Abul-Haija started an open-ended hunger strike seven days ago to demand the Israeli prison service to allow him to be together with his father Jamal Abul-Haija a senior Hamas official who is serving a life sentence.
Imad also have two brothers Asem and Abdul-Salam who are administrative detainees in Israeli jails.
