TRIPOLI (PIC)– The Gaddafi international charity and development foundation plans to make official an agreement for reconstruction in Gaza with UNRWA next Monday in the Jordanian capital of Amman.
The agreement took place during the foundation’s dispatching of a humanitarian aid ship from Libya to the besieged Gaza Strip. According to the agreement the aid will have an estimated value of 50 million dollars which was pledged by Libya during the latest Arab summit.
The Gaddafi-linked Cyrene newspaper disclosed Wednesday a draft of the contract which was sent by UNRWA to the Gaddafi foundation containing items to be adopted by both parties.
The newspaper reported that the foundation’s executive director Youssef Sawan met with the UNRWA Deputy Commissioner-General and other agency representatives last month in Amman to discuss ways to implement the foundation’s reconstruction initiatives.
