A baby girl on Tuesday died in al-Hilal al-Emarati Hospital in the Gaza Strip due to the absence of a special respiratory medicine that helps premature infants to breathe normally.
Health ministry official Munir al-Barash stated in press remarks that that five-day-old Hadia Abu Hilal died in the nursery unit after failure to provide her with “Calfactant” which is given directly into the baby’s lungs through a breathing tube that is connected to a ventilator
This type of medication is one of many vital medicines that became out of stock in Gaza according to Barash.
