Gaza: Border crossings reopened partially

The Israeli occupation government announced that it reopened the border crossings with the Gaza Strip partially at nine o’clock in the morning today but the move will be subject to a situational assessment.

In a statement on Monday the coordinator of Israeli government operations in the occupied territories said that the full reopening of border crossings with Gaza could take place later in the day depending on the security situation.

Earlier in the morning the first oil trucks began arriving at the Karam Abu Salem crossing.

For its part the Palestinian civil affairs authority said that the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing would be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the departure of patients and foreign and Palestinian passengers.

However the Beit Hanoun crossing would remain open until 7 a.m. to the passengers who want to return to Gaza the civil affairs authority added.

After three days of fighting between Israel and the Palestinian resistance a ceasefire took effect on Sunday night.

The Israeli aggression claimed the lives of 45 Palestinians in Gaza mostly civilians wounded 360 others and destroyed infrastructure and dozens of homes.
