Palestinian political and media figures on Wednesday called for necessarily consolidating the media relations with Egypt and activating its historical role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
This came during a symposium staged on Wednesday by the Egyptian-Palestinian Media Forum and the Palestinian Council for National Empowerment in Gaza City in the presence of noted political and media figures.
Speakers in general stressed the importance of the Egyptian media role in promoting the Palestinian cause and recommended developing a plan and mechanisms to activate this role.
In his speech senior Islamic Jihad official Ahmed al-Midallal described Egypt as the safe cloak for the Palestinian cause recalling the Egyptian people’s historical support for the Palestinian people.
Midallal stressed the need for restoring the Egyptian people’s role in advocating and serving the Palestinian cause.
For his part head of the Egyptian-Palestinian Media Forum Kamal al-Shaer said the Egyptian and Palestinian media is an important issue for both peoples and part of the shared geography and history.
