The Gaza Strip is experiencing a fifth wave of COVID-19 infections the Palestinian health ministry said warning of the spread of the BA5 variant.
The ministry stressed in a statement on Wednesday the urgent need of receiving COVID-19 vaccine and booster doses.
It pointed out however that the expected infected cases would not reach levels previously seen in the territory.
The ministry further stressed the importance of wearing masks in health facilities and closed and crowded places.
