Gaza’s power plant shut down on Saturday noon due to the Israeli closure of crossings that deprived it of fuel.
The Palestinian energy authority in the besieged enclave said in a press release that Gaza Strip areas would be supplied with only four hours of electricity to be followed by 12 hours of blackouts due to the lack of fuel to operate the sole power plant in Gaza.
Power supply in Gaza was originally eight hours of supply to be followed by eight hours of cut off.
The Israeli occupation authority has been closing Gaza crossings for the fifth day Saturday. Furthermore Israeli warplanes started a large-scale aerial bombing of the beleaguered enclave on Friday evening.
