Gazan citizen Hasan al-Dahshan 59 was pronounced dead on Sunday evening following failed attempts to obtain a medical referral from the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Ramallah.
Dahshan who had been waiting for 16 days to be transferred abroad for treatment was suffering from heart problems and needed an urgent cardiac catheterization.
With Dahshan’s death the number of patients who have died since the PA decided to halt Gaza patients’ medical referrals increased to 17.
Dahshan was one of 240 patients with heart problems waiting for the PA to allow them to travel abroad for treatment.
