A general strike was staged on Wednesday morning in the Arab City of Rahat in Negev to protest the killing of 27-year-old Sanad al-Harbad by Israeli undercover policemen on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people also participated in the funeral of Harbad in Rahat in the morning with mourners strongly denouncing the killing of the young man a father of three children and demanding the dismissal of the police chief of the southern command and an investigation into the shooting incident which they emphasized as “unjustified.”
For its part the Higher Steering Committee of the Negev Arabs has announced its support for the general strike that was launched by the Rahat municipality calling for investigating the crime and prosecuting the police officers who were involved in the deadly raid.
