Gov’t anti-siege committee asks Doha summit to expedite Gaza reconstruction

GAZA (PIC)– The PA government committee against the siege in the Gaza Strip has called on the Arab summiteers convening in Doha Qatar on Monday to break the siege on Gaza and to expedite its reconstruction.

Adel Zu’rub the committee’s spokesman said in a press release on Friday evening “We want the Arab summit to adopt practical resolutions to break the siege open crossings and accelerate the reconstruction process”.

He hoped that the summit would resolve inter-Arab differences adding that the Palestinian people were in dire need of a united Arab stance to confront the “Zionist siege”.

The spokesman suggested utilizing pressure tools on the US and Israel in a bid to open all Gaza crossings including that of Rafah with Egypt.

Zu’rub also proposed forming a follow-up committee to follow up commitment of donor countries of their financial pledges for the reconstruction of Gaza.
