The Hamas Movement has said that the Israel frenzied arrest campaign targeting members of its Islamic Bloc at an-Najah University will not succeed in silencing the voice of knowledge resistance and creativity.
“The occupation’s campaign is happening concurrently with a fierce persecution campaign against members of the Bloc being carried out by [PA] security apparatuses” senior Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed said in a statement.
Shadeed pointed to the recent kidnapping of two students from the Islamic Bloc by security forces from the Palestinian Authority after the Bloc filed a lawsuit with Palestinian courts against a decision banning its activities at an-Najah University.
He affirmed that the Islamic Bloc members at an-Najah University would continue to exercise their university rights fully and urged the administration of the university to protect its students’ right to hold activities and express their opinions and positions.
