The Hamas Movement has announced that a ceasefire has been reached with the Israeli side following mediation by Egyptian and UN officials.
In a brief statement at dawn Saturday Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that following Egyptian and UN efforts a ceasefire between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli army had been restored.
There has been a state of cautious calm since 10:00 pm on Friday after Israel halted its aerial and artillery attacks on Gaza but maintained its drone overflights.
The Israeli occupation army had launched on Friday evening a spate of air raids on Gaza killing four Palestinians and wounding 120 others.
Israeli tanks also fired projectiles at March of Return protests that were organized yesterday on the eastern border of Gaza.
