The Hamas Movement has described the deployment of a joint security force in Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp as “an irrevocable step” warning of obstructing its duties.
In a press release Hamas representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka affirmed that his Movement would not allow anyone to prevent the joint security force from maintaining security and stability in the camp.
Baraka condemned the armed attack on the joint security force in Ein Hilweh in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon on Friday.
The joint force came under armed attack by a militant group during its presence in al-Fawqani street yesterday.
Machine guns and projectiles were used during the clashes between the two sides. One Palestinian refugee was killed and others suffered injuries during the unfortunate events.
Ein el-Hilweh is the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon where more than 80000 people live.
