Hamas-Fatah agree on stabilizing ceasefire

GAZA (PIC)– The Hamas and Fatah movements on Saturday night agreed on a new ceasefire deal in the presence of PA interior minister Sa’eed Siyam with the help of the Egyptian security delegation.

The conferees approved an immediate ceasefire to be followed by withdrawing all armed elements from the streets and buildings in addition to dismantling all road barriers.

They affirmed that policemen would be the only force allowed to maintain law and order in the streets especially in Gaza city. They also said that all detainees and kidnapped persons of both parties should be released immediately.

They decided that the previously established joint operations room would meet to apply the new deal and to follow up developments.

Both movements said that targeting any of the security apparatuses citizens or public institutions was condemned by all and whoever is involved in such attacks would be prosecuted. They pledged to support all measures taken by the interior ministry to ensure internal security and they vowed to halt media provocations.
