Hamas: Four hunger strikers protest illegal detention in PA jails

The Hamas Movement has said that there are several Palestinian citizens being held illegally by the Palestinian Authority (PA) security apparatuses in the West Bank and four of them have gone on hunger strike to protest their detention with no guilt.

In a statement on Friday Hamas said that the PA intelligence agency in Qalqilya arrested Nuruddin Dawoud an ex-detainee in PA and Israeli jails after storming his home on Thursday morning.

Two other young men one of them an ex-detainee were also arrested with no reason by a security force from the PA intelligence in Qalqilya. They were identified as Ibrahim al-Salami and Muaad al-Far according to the statement.

Three other young men who were also arrested a week ago with no guilt decided to go on open-ended hunger strike to demand their release Hamas said.

They are Musab Abu Shekhaidem Qusi al-Fakhuri and Abdul-Rahman al-Khatib.

They joined another prisoner called Asaad a-Tawil who started his hunger strike nine days ago. Tawil is a university student and has been detained for his involvement in student activities on campus.

The PA intelligence in al-Khalil has been detaining two other citizens for several days with no legal grounds. They are Hudaifa al-Awawdeh and Mohamed al-Ammour.
