The Hamas Movement has hailed the shooting operation that took place at dawn Sunday in Occupied Jerusalem as “heroic special and courageous” and “a reflection of the ongoing and growing resistance activity in the holy city.”
“Our Palestinian people are fully aware that the resistance is the only way to protect the land and holy sites raise the cost of the occupation and inflict a heavy defeat on it” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in press remarks on Sunday morning.
“This heroic and brave operation is a natural reaction to the daily rampage and crimes that are committed by the occupation forces and settlers against our people land and Islamic and Christian holy sites as well as to the persistent desecration of the Aqsa Mosque” spokesman Barhoum added.
“The occupation’s repressive measures against our people in Jerusalem and its tight police grip on them will never weaken their resolve or break their will but rather such practices are the greatest motivation for our people to escalate and develop their resistance” he underlined.
For his part Mohamed Hamada another Hamas spokesman said that the Jerusalem shooting operation was in response to the occupation state’s crimes in Gaza and Nablus.
Hamada stressed that this operation reflected “the reality of the Palestinian people who are adherent to the resistance option and loyal to the legacy of their martyrs.”
He added that “the time and place of the operation was a strong response message to the occupation’s aggression in Jerusalem.”
