RAMALLAH (PIC)– Hamas MPs in the West Bank have denounced the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) for renewing the detention of their colleague Dr. Ayman Daraghma for four months for the fourth consecutive time.
They said in a press release that administrative custody was not legitimate and was only employed to absent those deputies from the political arena and to continue paralyzing the Palestinian legislative council.
The lawmakers asked the world community to pressure the IOA to release all detained deputies who enjoy immunity against detention.
Daraghma was detained since March 2009 in a campaign of arrests launched by the IOA against PLC members in the West Bank mostly affiliated with the Hamas movement.
