The Hamas Movement has categorically denied that its delegation to Cairo signed understandings with the Egyptian side during its current visit describing news reports in this regard as “untrue.”
According to an informed source on Monday members of the Hamas delegation have been enjoying warm hospitality since their arrival in Egypt and had the chance to table all issues of mutual interest during their meetings with the officials there.
The source noted that there was no third party participating in the talks between Hamas and Egyptian officials affirming that the Egyptian side showed great keenness on restoring the Palestinian cause’s prestige.
The source said that the Hamas officials presented the Palestinian concerns in general especially those related to Gaza and the Egyptian side pledged to make every effort to find solutions to all issues on the table.
A high-level delegation from Hamas led by its chief in Gaza Yehya Sinwar started a visit to Cairo on June 4 to hold talks with Egyptian officials on issues that concern the Palestinian people.
