Monday 7-January-2019

Hamas has strongly condemned the decision taken by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to withdraw its officers from Rafah crossing dubbing the move one that hits hard the Egyptian endeavors to boost Palestinian reconciliation.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said the move makes part of the PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s intents to isolate the Gaza Strip and deepen the national rift which will make way for the implementation of Trump’s Israel-backed deal of the century.

Abbas’ decision to withdraw officers from the Gaza border crossing is another chain in the punitive measures perpetrated against the people of Gaza Barhoum’s statement read.

Barhoum said the move highlights his direct involvement in the ‘Deal of the Century’ particularly with regard to the isolation of Gaza in an attempt to pressure its people to yield in to the US and Israeli schemes.

The punitive measures reflect the moral decay overwhelming Abbas and his team added Barhoum.

He slammed Abbas for “turning his motherland and people into bargaining chips” and for engendering Palestinians’ national liberation struggle.
