The Hamas Movement has accused the Palestinian Authority (PA) security apparatuses of fabricating statements and attributing them to Hamas officials in order to discourage West Bank citizens from participating in protests against the sanctions imposed on the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Saturday Hamas categorically denied fabricated remarks attributed to Mahmoud al-Zahhar and Fathi Hammad about the popular campaign in the West Bank against Gaza sanctions and the Movement’s relations with Egypt which had been published by Wattan24 website.
Hamas affirmed that Wattan24 are notorious for making up news and false statements stressing that this website desperately attempts to undermine its relations with Egypt through fabricating news.
It underlined that Wattan24 vindicated further ‘its subordination to suspicious parties whose aims intersect with Israeli interests.”
