The reconciliation agreement signed in Cairo will strengthen the ties among the Palestinian refugee community in Lebanon Hamas Movement said on Thursday evening.
Hamas leader in Lebanon Aymen Shana’a said the movement is deeply committed to national reconciliation and yearns for healing all divisions.
Hamas said partnership and cooperation are the only means to uphold unity among the Palestinians and serve the Palestinian cause.
Commenting on the situation in Ein al-Hiwleh refugee camp Hamas said calm has been gradually restored in the area vowing to do its best to prop up security in the camp.
It further stressed the need to form a joint security unit in al-Tira neighborhood so as to smooth internationally-funded reconstruction projects.
At the same time a group of merchants who were in attendance during the Hamas meeting sounded the alarm over the dire socio-economic conditions in Ein al-Hilweh and the upshots of the security turmoil on trade movement.
