The Hamas Movement has described the Israeli police assault on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque on Sunday morning as a serious escalation and violation against the Islamic holy site.
In Twitter remarks on Sunday Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri warned that the Israeli assault on the Aqsa Mosque and Muslim worshipers would lead to dire consequences.
“The rulers of the [Muslim] nation and the international community are facing a real test regarding this Israeli escalation” Abu Zuhri said.
Dozens of Muslim worshipers suffered from injuries and many of them were arrested after Israeli police forces stormed the Aqsa Mosque and brutally attacked them.
The Israeli police also allowed hundreds of Jewish settlers to defile the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards.
