The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced senior Fatah official Jibril Rajoub for claiming that the Jews has a right to the Western Wall of the Aqsa Mosque describing his remarks in this regard as “a national crime and an affront to the Palestinian people and their holy sites.”
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said that Rajoub’s remarks were “a clear message to the Israeli occupation state about the Palestinian Authority’s readiness to make a concession on a sacred national and historic constant in exchange for crumbs.”
“Such remarks expose the state of national and moral decline which some Fatah leaders have reached after their coup against the Palestinian national project” spokesman Qasem said.
He also said that Rajoub’s remarks about the Aqsa Mosque’s Western Wall reflected further Fatah leaders’ attempt to present themselves to the Israeli community as doves of peace at the expense of their national cause and homeland.
