Hamas strongly condemned on Thursday the appointment of Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Danon as deputy president of the 72nd UN General Assembly.
Hamas spokesman Abdul Latif al-Kanou’ said Danon’s election makes part of attempts to whitewash Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
“Danon’s very hands are tainted with Palestinians’ blood as he had served as a deputy war minister and has been involved in crimes and carnages against the Palestinian people” said al-Kanou’.
Hamas called for a firm reaction against such a “serious step” and appealed to all human rights and humanitarian organizations to pressure the UN to backtrack on the moveز
