Hamas announces conclusion of Haneyya’s ‘hisotric’ visit to Lebanon

Hamas Movement announced on Tuesday the conclusion of its leader Ismail Haneyya’s three-week visit which was described as a historic to Lebanon at the head of a high-ranking delegation.

Haneyya met with many official popular partisan and intellectual Lebanese leaders. He expressed support for Lebanon’s unity security and stability and lauded the depth of the fraternal relationship with Lebanon in its various political and social components Hamas’s statement said.

Haneyya praised Lebanon’s historic role in support of the Palestinian people and its embrace of Palestinian refugees. He also praised the Lebanese resistance which defeated the Israeli occupation and forced it to withdraw from most of the south in 2000 then came out victorious in the July 2006 war.

During meetings with the Palestinian leaders Haneyya called for developing the internal relationship and arranging the Palestinian ranks to reconstruct and activate the Palestine Liberation Organization.

He also called for electing a new Palestinian National Council at home and abroad and drawing up a single national strategy to confront the Israeli occupation and projects to liquidate the Palestinian cause including the deal of the century the annexation plan and normalization.

Haneyya stressed the need to activate the role of Palestinian refugees in the diaspora and to provide them with a decent life until they can return to their homes and property from which they were expelled since 1948.

Hamas’s leader requested the Lebanese state with all its institutions to recognize the human and social rights of the Palestinian refugees support their steadfastness improve their living conditions end their suffering and discuss in depth all the problems facing them and ways to solve them according to the statement.
