Hamas asks Moscow to help in lifting Gaza siege

Wednesday 20-September-2017

Hamas Movement asked Russia to exert efforts for the sake of ending the decade-long Gaza siege and to offer humanitarian and medical aid to the blockaded coastal enclave as well as to contribute to achieving the Palestinian reconciliation.

Deputy Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk pointed out that his Movement called on Russia to hold talks with Fatah Movement in order to persuade the latter to respond to the Egyptian efforts and to positively deal with Hamas’s move of dismantling the governmental committee in Gaza and moving its powers to the national consensus government.

During an interview with Russia Today satellite channel Abu Marzouk hoped that Russia would extend greater support for the Palestine cause at the international forums.
