The Hamas Movement has described the exposure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil and the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to descration by Jewish settlers as “a practice targeting the Palestinian presence.”
In a press release on Sunday Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said the settlers’ break-ins at the Ibrahimi and Aqsa Mosques are part of the religious war being waged by the Israeli occupation state on the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
Barhoum added that such ongoing aggression against the Islamic holy sites entails action by the Palestinian people and their resistance to confront the Israeli occupation and settlers.
He called on the Palestinian people to fight a real battle with the occupation and settlers and defend the holy sites regardless of the sacrifices.
