Hamas Movement called in a press statement issued Friday for the immediate release of the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid and all sick and elderly prisoners in Israeli jails.
Member of Hamas political bureau Zaher Jabarin expressed deep concern over the critical health condition of Abu Hamid holding Israel fully responsible for his life.
Jabarin stressed that the prisoners issue was and will forever remain on the top priorities of the Palestinian people.
He also renewed the humanitarian initiative launched by the Movement to release sick and elderly prisoners before it is too late.
He further called on the Palestinian people to escalate solidarity activities with the detainees at all political media and humanitarian levels.
“We call on all human rights institutions and international humanitarian bodies to initiate serious actions to criminalize and expose Israel’s slow death policy against the Palestinian detainees and to work immediately for the release of the detainee Nasser Abu Hamid and all other detainees in Israeli prisons” he concluded.
Earlier Thursday Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid who is a cancer patient is currently fighting for his life in Israeli detention due to his worsening health condition.
