The Hamas Movement’s popular action bureau in Lebanon has reiterated the Palestinian refugees’ right to return to the homes and areas they were displaced from by the Israeli occupation and called for a clear and decisive international position in this regard.
In a statement on Sunday the popular action bureau urged UNRWA to assume its duties to the fullest in order to provide the best development and relief services to the Palestinian refugees especially in the current difficult economic and social conditions around the world.
The bureau warned against any step taken by UNRWA that would affect the Palestinian refugees’ rights whether by shrinking its services delegating its duties to other organizations or manipulating information related to the personal history of refugees.
It appealed to the governments of the countries hosting Palestinian refugees to provide them with the essentials and services they need to live a decent life.
“The Palestinian refugees’ right to return to the homes from which they were displaced is an undisputed legal and human right so we as political civil and social forces will confront with all means any step that undermines this right or any attempt to end the question of our refugees” the bureau underlined.
“Our question as Palestinian refugees has been the most important refugee issue in the world since more than 74 years ago when the Israeli occupation expelled our people by force terrorism and systematic displacements and through means of killing intimidation destruction and organized violence” it added.
