Hamas champions national unity and partnership

The Hamas Movement has called on the Palestinian factions to formulate a joint struggle and political program embodying the national unity and partnership.

This came in a speech read on behalf of Hamas political chief Khaled Mishaal by lawmaker Ahmed al-Hajj at the seventh conference of Fatah that was held yesterday in Ramallah city.

In his statement Mishaal called on the Palestinian rivals to join forces and pool their efforts to serve the national cause describing Palestine as bigger than all partisan interests.

The Hamas official highlighted the readiness of his Movement for real partnership with Fatah and all political forces in the Palestinian arena in order to serve the Palestinian people their national cause and their struggle against the occupation.

He expressed hope that the conference would be successful and fruitful and strengthen Fatah’s internal ranks and improve its performance and its struggle program.

The seventh conference of the Fatah Movement kicked off at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah on Tuesday in which Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas was unanimously re-elected as chairman of the party.
