Hamas Movement condemned Egypt’s bombings that killed 43 citizens at two Coptic churches on Palm Sunday. The attacks were carried out on churches in the cities of Tanta and Alexandria. The bombings also left scores wounded.
In a statement on Sunday Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum expressed sorrow over the fall of victims and wished Egypt security and stability.
The first attack occurred in the Coptic church of Mar Girgis in Tanta also known as St George which was packed with worshipers marking Palm Sunday a Christian feast commemorating the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. 27 people were killed and 78 others were wounded state TV reported.
Several hours after the bombing in Tanta at least 18 people were killed and 41 others wounded in a suicide bomb attack outside St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria.
