The Hamas Movement has said that Israel’s approval of a plan to seize dozens of dunums of Palestinian land in Beit Safafa town in Occupied Jerusalem in order to expand an illegal settlement is “part of its ongoing Judaization and displacement crimes” in the holy city.
In a statement on Tuesday Hamas spokesman Mohamed Hamadah affirmed that the American cover and the absence of international action embolden the occupation state to carry out its settlement expansion plans and ignore all the voices calling upon it to halt such policy that violates the international law.
The spokesman stressed that the resistance option is the only way that could hurt the occupation state and force it to end its settlement expansion crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Israeli district planning committee in Jerusalem okayed on Monday the “Givat HaShaked” settlement plan (TPS 969162) that involves the construction of 473 housing units on 38.7 dunums of land located in Sharafat area in the northwestern part of the Palestinian town of Beit Safafa.
