Israel’s organization of a marathon in Occupied Jerusalem is a clear attempt to prove its purported and void sovereignty over the holy city Hamas Movement said in a statement issued Monday.
Hamas spokesperson for Jerusalem Mohammed Hamada said “the move will never alter the Arab and Islamic character of the city that our Palestinian people will protect with their steadfastness and determination to confront the Israeli occupation and its ongoing violations.”
Hamada called on the free peoples of the world to boycott Israel which is trying to use sports and cultural activities to cover up its continuous crimes against the Palestinian people and their Muslim and Christian holy sites.
Earlier on Monday Israeli municipal authorities closed the main roads in Occupied Jerusalem as a prelude to the Judaizing marathon amid the participation of 10000 Jews from various world countries.
