Hamas Movement condemned in a statement issued Tuesday the large-scale arrest campaign launched by the PA security services against its supporters and activists in the West Bank.
The political arrests will only increase the Palestinian people’s adherence to the resistance the statement said.
“The PA arrest campaign on the Movement’s anniversary violates our national values and targets our people’s unity” it added.
“Raiding homes terrorizing and assaulting women and children arresting youth and university students and summoning hundreds of them including women are a national crime that only serves the occupation.”
Earlier Monday the Committee of Political Prisoners’ Families in the West Bank reported 142 PA violations over the past 48 hours.
The reported violations included 27 political arrests 78 summonses 13 detention extensions 18 home raids and 6 assaults on women.
At least nine students were detained while 15 others were summoned for investigation during the campaign.
