Hamas Movement condemned on Wednesday the Israeli arrest campaigns against Palestinians in the West Bank including the leader Nidal Al-Qawasmeh from al-Khalil and the journalist Alaa Al-Rimawi from Al-Bireh.
The Movement said in a press statement that the arrest of journalists “confirms once again that this occupation is irritated by the truth and the message carried by the free press which is consistent with the aspirations of Palestinians and conveys their suffering at the hands of the occupation.”
Hamas called on all human rights institutions and the media to support Rimawi and to expose the Israeli practices at concerned international human rights institutions.
The Movement charged that the continuation of the Israeli arrest campaigns against Hamas leaders in the West Bank aims to impede their participation in the Palestinian elections.
