The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas congratulated on Sunday the newly released prisoner Lina al-Jarbouni and renewed its vow to liberate the Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
The Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement that Jarbouni represents a symbol of the Palestinian resistance.
Barhoum renewed Hamas’s promise to liberate the Palestinian prisoners adding that Jarbouni’s release gives hope for the rest of the prisoners that the time of freedom is near.
The Israeli occupation authorities released on Sunday morning the longest-serving female prisoner Lina al-Jarbouni 43 who is from Arrabat al-Battuf town in Akka city in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories after spending 15 years in captivity.
Jarbouni was arrested on 18th April 2002 and sentenced to 17 years on charges of being a member of the Islamic Jihad Movement and helping Palestinian fighters in their anti-occupation operations.
