Hamas delegation ends visit to Moscow

A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement has concluded a short visit to the Russian capital Moscow where they met with senior officials from the foreign ministry.

The delegation led by deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk met with deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov in the presence of other senior officials from the ministry.

During a three-hour meeting the delegation briefed the Russian officials on the developments of the recent efforts to end the inter-Palestinian division including Hamas’s decision to dissolve the administrative committee in Gaza.

The Hamas officials also highlighted Israel’s violations in the occupied Palestinian territories including its settlement activities and movement restrictions as well as its active attempts to Judaize the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Palestinian officials also talked about the incarceration conditions of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and the inhumane blockade on Gaza and exchanged views on different issues of mutual interest.

For his part Bogdanov hailed Hamas’s efforts to achieve national reconciliation and put an end to the rift in the Palestinian arena voicing his country’s readiness to host talks between the Palestinian factions and provide every help in this regard.

He also confirmed his country’s supportive positions of the Palestinian people’s rights and their national cause.
