A delegation from Hamas headed by a member of the Movement’s political bureau Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk met with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri at his residence in Al-Musalih on Thursday where they reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue.
The Movement’s delegation included Osama Hamdan a member of the Arab and Islamic Relations Office and the Movement’s representative in Lebanon Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Hadi while the official in charge of the Palestinian relations file in the Amal Movement Muhammad al-Jabawi and a member of its Political Bureau Bassam Kajak attended.
Abu Marzouk presented an explanation of the latest developments in the Palestinian issue especially the preparations of the Israeli occupation and its settlers to slaughter sacrifices in Al-Aqsa Mosque on the occasion of the so-called “Jewish Passover” warning of the danger of these steps that constitute a provocation to Arab and Muslim feelings.
He stressed that the Palestinian people and their resistance won’t allow the occupation to implement its plan that crosses all red lines praising President Berri’s position in support of Palestinian rights.
Abu Marzouk put Berri in a picture of the continuous aggression and attacks on the Palestinian people in the West Bank which led to the death of six Palestinians during the past 24 hours.
He said “The occupation by resorting to the policies of field executions and arrests is trying to stop the revolt of the Palestinian people.”
The delegation also discussed the situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon stressing the need to grant them their civil rights and affirmed its support for Lebanon’s security and stability and the strengthening of Lebanese-Palestinian relations.
Berri affirmed his permanent position on the Palestinian issue and his support for the Palestinian people and their just issue stressing that the attacks of the occupation and the intentions of its settlers in al-Aqsa Mosque require a firm stance from all Arab and Islamic countries.
