The Hamas Movement has called for immediately developing a joint Palestinian strategy to defend the Aqsa Mosque and confront Israel’s crimes.
“In light of the grave circumstances facing the holy Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian cause we are extending our hands to Fatah Movement chief of the [Palestinian] Authority Mahmoud Abbas and all factions and forces in order to unite our position have one national line and end the division in accordance to what was agreed upon” Hamas stated in a press release on Saturday.
The Movement also called for taking practical steps to support the Jerusalem intifada (uprising) and strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation through renouncing the security cooperation with it and ending all measures recently taken by the Palestinian Authority against Gaza ex-detainees and lawmakers.
It called for permanently convening the Palestinian people’s leadership framework to address the dangers and challenges facing Jerusalem Aqsa Mosque and the national cause.
Hamas also urged the Arab leaders and peoples to act urgently to back the Palestinian people and help them foil Israel’s plans to divide and control the Aqsa Mosque.
