The Hamas Movement has categorically denied that Khaled Mishaal head of its foreign political bureau made recent remarks to “Asas Media” or allowed this website to conduct any exclusive interview with him during his visit to Lebanon.
Director of Hamas’s foreign media affairs Hisham Qasem stated that Mishaal had not made any exclusive remarks to this website or any other website or media outlet during his recent visit to Lebanon.
Asas Media website recently published fabricated interviews with the Hamas leader containing claims that he warned against assassination plans targeting Hamas leaders in Lebanon and that he would not align himself with Iran.
A high-level delegation from Hamas led by Mishaal visited Lebanon on December 15 to participate in activities that marked the Movement’s founding anniversary and to hold meetings with officials and national figures.
The visit coincided with the recent developments that took place in Lebanon following the deadly shooting attack that was carried out by Fatah gunmen on a funeral in Burj esh-Shemali refugee camp.
