The Hamas Movement has categorically denied claims published by a “suspicious” news website that it had asked the Malaysian authorities to open a representative office for the Gaza Strip in the country.
Wattan 24 website notorious for publishing false news about Hamas claimed that senior Hamas official Maher Salah submitted a request to open a diplomatic representation office for Gaza in Malaysia in order to improve the economic conditions of the Palestinian citizens in the besieged enclave.
The website also claimed that it had taken its information from the Malaysian national news agency BERNAMA which actually did not publish anything in this regard.
Hamas’s media office abroad affirmed that Maher Salah did not make such remarks to the Malaysian agency describing what had been published by Wattan 24 as “fabricated and false.”
