GAZA (PIC)– Fawzi Barhum the Hamas spokesman in the Gaza Strip has denied media reports that his Movement had surrendered key ministerial portfolios in the proposed national unity government.
Barhum in an exclusive statement to the PIC said “We do not want a government tailored to American dictates in order to lift the siege.”
He said that the Palestinian national project should not be dwarfed to mere distribution of portfolios just to please a certain faction adding that the unity government should not be one of services only.
Hamas refused political blackmail against it he said noting that all attempts to topple the government had failed.
Barhum pointed out that Hamas always championed national unity government and would exert all efforts possible to reach that goal.
