RAMALLAH (PIC)– The Hamas Movement on Monday strongly condemned the continued IOF detention of Palestinian MPs in absolute disregard of their immunity as stipulated in international laws.
The Movement in a statement urged legal institutions and world parliaments to pressure the Hebrew state into desisting from proceeding in such illegal practice.
Hamas asked for the immediate release of Palestinian lawmakers to assume their role in service of the Palestinian community and mentioned in particular Dr. Aziz Duwaik the PLC speaker who is still held in Megiddo jail and who attended a hearing on Sunday that witnessed the usual adjournment of his farcical trial.
The total number of Palestinian PLC members and PA ministers held in Israeli occupation jails reached 42 after the kidnap earlier today of MP Ahmed Mubarak 43 who was released from occupation jails less than a month ago. Mubarak’s kidnap is the third since his election to the PLC in January last year.
