Member of the Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk expressed regret on Saturday on his Twitter account over the absence of an official Arab response to the Israeli decision to close al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time since its occupation.
Abu Marzouk criticized the lack of any official Arab statement about the incident slamming at the same time the latest remarks by the Saudi ambassador to Algeria Sami al-Saleh.
Saleh said recently during a TV interview that Hamas is “of course a terrorist movement”.
The Israeli authorities closed al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday morning for the first time since its occupation following an anti-occupation attack carried out by three Palestinian young men from Umm al-Fahm city in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories.
Two Israeli policemen were killed and a third was injured in the attack.
Despite the seriousness of the Israeli move no official Arab response was witnessed except shy statements calling for calming the situation and re-opening al-Aqsa Mosque before worshipers.
