The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas strongly denounced on Friday a statement by the UNRWA claiming the existence of a resistance tunnel under an UNRWA school in the central Gaza Strip.
The Movement said in a statement late on Friday night that such allegations “could be exploited by the Israeli occupation to justify its crimes and encourage it to target unarmed civilians”.
The Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that all factions and resistance forces affirmed that they do not have any resistance-related activities in the mentioned location and that they adopt a policy based on respecting the UNRWA institutions and the vital and public facilities and keeping them away from dangers to ensure a continued provision of various services to the people in besieged Gaza.
