Hamas deplores Fatah attempt to transfer disputes to Jordan

Monday 15-January-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Hamas Movement has scathingly deplored a statement issued by Fatah leadership in the Jordanian capital Amman last week threatening to transfer the conflict with Hamas to the Jordanian arena.

In a statement it issued Monday and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC Hamas affirmed that it waited for almost a week to vet authenticity of that “suspicious” statement which was later proved to be issued by the Fatah supreme committee in Jordan.

“The statement bears serious indicators including turning the Jordanian arena into a scene of bloody confrontations with Hamas in continuation of the efforts of their comrades in the Palestinian arena in this regard” Hamas pointed out.

In this context Hamas urged the Jordanian people to block such “criminal gangs” from igniting internal divisiveness in Jordan.

Armed groups affiliated with Fatah had vandalized the Palestinian street and almost dragged the Palestinian community into a civil war last month; yet Hamas and prudent leaders from Fatah succeeded in defusing the tension and spared the Palestinian people unwarranted civil strife.
