The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces for raiding the house of ex-detainee Naser Habaineh and assaulting his family in Sanur town south of Jenin.
In a press release on Monday Hamas said that PA soldiers on Monday assaulted Habaineh’s pregnant wife caused her to miscarry brutalized his children detained one of them and caused furniture damage and chaos during a violent raid on his house in the town.
“This assault is a barbaric and disgraceful behavior and has placed many question marks over the dogma of these [security] apparatuses and the objectives they were established for” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said.
“Such irresponsible behavior that targets our people in the West Bank as well as activists released prisoners and the freedom of opinion and expression must be stopped and curbed” Barhoum added.
He called for a firm national action aimed at stopping such assaults and violations exposing its perpetrators and pressuring for the release of all political detainees from PA jails.
Naser Habainhen had spent a total of seven years in different Israeli jails.
