GAZA (PIC)– The Hamas Movement on Wednesday expressed absolute surprise at the attempt by certain local parties to smear the good and strong relationship between Hamas and Egypt and the Egyptian security delegation in Gaza.
Hamas in a statement asserted the solid relations between the Movement and the “Egyptian brothers” especially in view of their positive role in mending Palestinian differences.
It charged that certain parties were falsely quoting Hamas leaders in a bid to drive a wedge between Hamas and Cairo affirming that any differences with the Egyptians are only solved through dialogue.
The Movement clarified that Hamas MP Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahhar visited the Egyptian embassy in Gaza on Monday 30/4/2007 at the request of the PA premier Ismail Haneyya and a senior PA foreign ministry official to declare solidarity with the brothers in the embassy and the security delegation.
Zahhar praised their role and stayed with them for a while especially after certain parties which are hostile to Hamas fired bullets in the vicinity of the embassy the statement concluded.
