Saturday 2-June-2007

QALQILIA (PIC)– The Hamas Movement on Saturday held the Israeli occupation authority responsible for the safety of kidnapped MP Hamed Al-Beitawi and Qalqilia mayor Wajih Al-Qawas who suffer from a number of diseases.

Mohammed Daoud a spokesman for the Movement in Qalqilia said in a press release that the Jalama prison authority refuses to extend necessary medical treatment to Beitawi and Qawas who suffer from diabetes hypertension and heart ailments.

Daoud said that the bad incarceration conditions of kidnapped Palestinians had worsened the health conditions of both adding that Israeli jailers so far refuse to transfer them to hospital for urgently needed treatment.

Legal institutions concerned with conditions of Palestinian prisoners in IOA jails had warned that the health conditions of a number of sick MPs and ministers held in occupation jails were deteriorating.

The IOA a couple of days ago extended the detention of Beitawi and Qawas along with other officials for different periods and is still refusing to allow their families to send them medicine or clothes.
